Another Bee

Within a colony there are many roles carried out by the different worker honey bees.

Some might clean the hive and care for the cells where the bees are hatched, called the brood nest. Others will build and repair the hive or guard it from predators.

The most well-known role of the worker bee is to forage and make honey.

What they are meant to do and how well they do their jobs might be a matter of personality.

Some bees might approach their daily tasks with more enthusiasm than others, just like humans; bees have different characters.

So even though one bee looks much like another bee, each one is in fact a little different:

·      some love to fly out to discover new flowers or find a new home

·      others are more careful and like to stay around the hive, keeping the place clean and safe.
